Decreasing Blood Loss in Joint Replacement Surgery

As seen on HealthBeat with Stacia Matthews, we incorporate bipolar tissue sealing in all our joint replacement surgeries. Using the Aquamantys system from Tissue Link, the tissues are sealed during surgery to diminish blood loss. This has allowed us to discontinue having patients predonate their own blood before surgery, has lowered the transfusion rates to 1-2%,and allowed for a speedier, safer recovery.
