John E. Garber, MD
John E. Garber, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. A native of
Indianapolis, Dr. Garber has been practicing in Indiana since 1984. His
orthopedic practice focus includes: arthroscopic surgery for both knee and
shoulder conditions; reconstructive surgery for arthritis of the knee and hip;
and other orthopedic related injuries, including sports medicine and trauma.
His credentials include: American Board of Orthopedic Surgery 1986, being
recertified in 1996 and 2006. Dr. Garber is an inducted fellow in the American
Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, a member of the Indiana Orthopaedic Society and
a member of the Clinical Orthopaedic Society. In addition, he is a clinical
instructor for the Physician Assistant Programs of Butler, St Francis and Duke
Universities. He practices at St Vincent Carmel Hospital. In addition, Dr. Garber
has authored articles published in medical journals and given presentations on
orthopedic issues.
Dr. Garber received his medical degree from Indiana University School of
Medicine. He completed his internship in general surgery at Brown University in
Providence, Rhode Island and his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Tufts
University and New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Garber is involved in the Knights of Columbus and attends Christ the King
Catholic Church. He enjoys all sports, with an especial passion for Notre Dame
Football. He has two grown daughters.
